The Wild Hair
History
For 5 years starting in 1997, Abilene's most notible tournament was the Mr. Big Putt's. A one day event held in the fall, this tournament attracted many of Texas' finest disc golfers.
In 2004, Alan Rogers brought back tournament disc golf to Abilene. He wanted to have a 2 day disc golf tournament to celebrate his birthday (June 26). So he got a "wild hair". He organized and ran the tournament. There were 54 players the first year. The next year, the locals made him do it again. The third year, they made him do it again... but this time he had some help. It was sanctioned in 2006 and has been ever since.

Its time! The 8th annual Wild Hair is coming! Are you ready!?!
This year we will be playing Cal Young and an 18 hole ACU layout. Players Packs for all and nice, dry-fit shirts for the first 110 Am's. Great lunches by St. James UMC, a raffle, final 9 for the Top 4 in Open. Online signups will be available in the next few weeks as well as host hotel information. This year, you MUST pre-register....we will not take signups on the morning of the tournament.
